Judie Cain - Oil Painter
Classes for summer of 2013
Topics of this summer’s classes:
As we’re all too aware, these are difficult times for many – negatively impacting the art world. As artists, it is easy to get discouraged if you allow yourself to forget why you create. Is it a passion, almost a necessity for life; an escape to your own world, a release? Ignoring the “market,” aren’t these the real reasons why we feel compelled to paint?!
Now is the best time to step back and take time to hone your painting skills, to express yourself like a carefree child. My summer sessions this year will be designed to be flexible and fluid – as well as informative and, yes, frugal.
Supplies used will be as limited as what you have on hand. Classes will be designed around individual needs but with a strong focus on oil painting fundamentals, particularly values (everything is light and shadow) design and color.
Set in a restful, stress free, setting, the Cain Art Studio is located on two peaceful and rustic acres away from traffic noise and city confusion, inside the gated community of Forest Meadows, 4 miles up Hiway 4 (Scenic Byway) above the charming town of Murphys. There are a variety of local amenities available (Forest Meadows is built around an 18 hole public golf course) along with many scenic and inspirational painting opportunities in the surrounding area. A great area for relaxation after a busy time painting indoors.
The specific dates, and other locations of my summer classes, will be determined by spring. I’ll be doing a mailing then. Please don’t hesitate to email or call if you have any questions and/or if you’d like to be on my mailing list.
